X- Ray

X-ray crystallography is the technique for determining the three-dimensional atomic resolution structures of molecules, including complex biological macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. BioSAXS is the complimentary technique that gives information on the size and shape of macromolecules in solution that can yield structural information on how biomolecules behave under conditions very similar to the living cell.

Ultrasound is a type of scanning technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures inside the body. It is also known as sonography or medical sonography. When it's done: Ultrasound is recommended depending on the symptoms and for: The assessment of a breast lump The assessment of the foetus inside the uterus during pregnancy The evaluation of the thyroid gland. The diagnosis of cancer. The diagnosis of infections. The diagnosis of a gallbladder disease. Assessing abnormalities of muscles and tendons.

Pathology

The Department of Pathology & Immunology maintains a number of core facilities that support the research, diagnostic and training missions of the department and the school. Together, they are full-service centers that provide state-of-the-art technology in support of basic and translational work research, as well as diagnostic activities of the Medical Center.

Some of these facilities provide services to outside customers on a contractual basis. However, all are generally available to Washington University School of Medicine faculty.

Hospital pharmacy is a specialized field of pharmacy that is integrated into the care of a medical center. These include centers such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, drug-dependency facility, poison control center, drug information center of residential care facility. The profession involves choosing, preparing, storing, compounding and dispensing medications for patients in a medical environment. Another important area is the provision of advice to both patients and other health professionals about the safe and effective use of medicines

The Physiotherapy department at LifeCare Hospital provides physical rehabilitation services for Orthopedic, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Neurology and Pediatric patients.The department caters to both OPD and IPD patients.
